I loved reading how you used real-life situations to weave into your story. It's great to find out how an author's mind works and where you get your inspiration. However, I do feel very sad about your aunt's and uncle's housekeeper.

She was a terrific person! I remember her from when I was a teenager and we'd go visit my aunt and uncle.
